Project Description
Large Reclaimed Douglas Fir Timbers from Harbor Paper Mill
The Lumber Baron offers large reclaimed Douglas Fir timbers salvaged from the historic Harbor Paper Mill in Hoquiam, Washington. These impressive old-growth beams combine the character of historic industrial lumber with the beauty and versatility of reclaimed wood.
Originally opened in 1929, the Harbor Paper Mill was once one of Hoquiam’s largest employers. Following the mill’s closure in 2012, The Lumber Baron acquired substantial Douglas Fir timbers from the demolition, preserving this remarkable material for future projects.
Large Reclaimed Douglas Fir Beams
These substantial structural timbers include dimensions such as 14×16 and 3×12, offering opportunities for architectural and custom woodworking applications.
The beams have been carefully denailed and retain the distinctive patina, grain patterns, and character developed over decades of industrial use.
Potential applications include:
- Exposed architectural beams and decorative timbers
- Custom tables, benches, and furniture
- Fireplace mantels and shelving
- Rustic and contemporary interior design
- Specialty woodworking and restoration projects
Their substantial dimensions make these reclaimed Douglas Fir timbers particularly attractive for projects requiring large, distinctive pieces of wood.
