Project Description

From the Owens-Brockway Glass factory in Oakland, we have over 8,000 board feet of beautiful Reclaimed 2×14 Doug Fir joists. Old growth, with very little knot content, the material measures a full 2″ x 13-1/4″ wide. The lengths vary but most are between 16-20′ long. This material would make exceptional exposed joists or table tops.

The Owens-Brockway Glass factory in Oakland was built in 1937 to replace it’s aging San Francisco facilities. Wine bottles were the primary product produced until the plants closing in 2018. The property was sold to Prologis in 2021 and demolition of 24 acre parcel began in late 2023. The 428,000 square foot commercial project will bring some relief to the East Bay’s current tight industrial real estate market. Located at 3600 Alameda Ave in Oakland, the new development will also include office and retail space.
