Project Description

Our reclaimed clear vertical grain doug fir T&G flooring is truly exquisite. We mill this lumber from our hand selected reclaimed beams or from salvaged logs. Unfortunately, a lot of today’s flooring has little in common with our products. Truthfully, it’s amazing some of today’s flooring even qualifies as “wood.” Often made of thin veneer strips atop plywood there are numerous reasons to avoid these products. Here are some reasons why you may want to install one of our solid reclaimed products instead of the basic options you’ll find at other flooring stores:

  • Many new products are comprised of glues and other dangerous chemicals that off-gas over time. However, you’ll find no chemicals in our solid wood flooring.
  • Short lengths look busy and cheap. Why deal with 1′, 2′ and 3′ increments when you can install long lengths instead. On the contrary, our usable length average pushes 10′ or more!
  • Wood flooring will occasionally scratch. Try refinishing a veneered “wood” floor. You’ll be lucky if you can sand it once without exposing the mystery plywood beneath. Contrarily, you can refinish our solid reclaimed flooring products over and over again.
  • Many of today’s floating floor products lack the strength of solid hardwood flooring and sound hollow under foot. That won’t be the case with our solid reclaimed doug fir flooring material.
  • It always saddens me to see cheap flooring installed in the old craftsman homes in the area. Maintain the integrity of your home by replacing what was originally there.
  • A number of the current flooring options have rounded corners that catch dirt where the board join together. We run our solid reclaimed clear vertical grain doug fir T&G flooring product to a square butt joint tongue and groove pattern, eliminating this issue.

International Harvester Beams Remilled 1×6 T&G Douglas Fir Flooring

Ripped from the huge 6×12 timbers that served as International Harvester building’s support beams, we are offering limited amounts of 1×6 (measure 3/4″ x 4-7/8″ exposed face) t&g clear old growth vertical grain doug fir flooring.  We hand select each beam for their clarity and grain structure density. Now’s your chance to create a one of a kind custom floor. Approximately 3,000 square feet are currently available, we can mill more to order.

San Leandro Georgia Pacific Paper Mill 1X4 T&G Flooring

Are you looking for hard to find 1×4 T&G to match what is already in your home? You are not alone. Knowing this, we mill our reclaimed clear vertical grain Doug Fir t&g to match the flooring you find in many of the craftsman homes in the Bay Area. We feel protecting the integrity of the Bay Area’s older homes is very important. As a result, we go out of our way to stock the old style 1×4 fir flooring found in some many of the older homes in the area. Hand selected for its growth ring density, we recently transformed around 5,000 board feet of reclaimed 4×8 beams into exquisite clear vertical grain flooring. Measuring 3/4″ thick and with a 3 1/4″ exposed face this material is perfect if you are trying to match many of the floors found in older Bay Area homes.
