Reclaimed Pine Lumber is an excellent choice for exposed beams, paneling or floors. Due to it’s light bright coloring it has become a staple of Scandinavian modern design. Easily workable, pine is a popular choice among wood workers.
Man made in 1936 for The World’s Fair, Treasure Island, located in the San Francisco Bay, is a California Historical Landmark. It operated as a Naval Station from 1942 until 1997 and has a strong cinematography history as well. Parts of the Matrix, The Pursuit of Happyness, Bicentennial Man, Patch Adams, Rent, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were all shot there. The tv shows Myth Busters and Battle Bots were also filmed on the Island.
A $5 billion dollar renovation of Treasure Island is well under way, complete with 8,000 homes, 140,000 square feet of retail, 300 acres of park and 500 hotel rooms. The Lumber Baron is proud to offer over 300,000 board feet of reclaimed pine, salvaged from the original pilings used in the construction of the Island. The original pilings, milled into various 1x, 3x and 4x thicknesses and widths up to 9″, would be ideal as exposed beams, furniture, shelves etc. We have also turned a large amount of this material into a 5″, 6″, 7″ and 9″ width tongue and groove (t&g) pattern, that would make lovely flooring, siding, or ceiling material. Add some San Francisco/Bay Area history to your next project!
