Project Description
Redwood Decking for Sale – Premium All-Heart 2×6 Redwood Boards
Redwood decking has been one of The Lumber Baron’s specialties since 1978. We offer an exceptional selection of premium all-heart 2×6 redwood deck boards in five different grades, with lengths from 8 to 20 feet. Whether you’re building a backyard deck or designing a high-end outdoor living space, our Richmond, California lumberyard supplies quality redwood decking throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Unlike redwood decking that contains sapwood, all five of our premium decking grades are 100% heartwood. Redwood heartwood naturally resists decay and insects, making it an excellent choice for outdoor decks. Our customers can choose the grade, appearance, and length that best fits their project—without paying for unwanted sapwood.
Stock, Lengths, and Availability
The Lumber Baron stocks an extensive selection of 2×6 redwood decking in five all-heart grades, with lengths from 8 to 20 feet in 2-foot increments. Whether you’re building a small backyard deck or a large custom outdoor living space, we can help you select the right grade, appearance, and lengths for your project.
Unlike lumberyards with limited selections or that require you to purchase random lengths, we provide the boards you need. Our huge inventory of redwood decking helps builders and homeowners create beautiful decks with fewer seams and less waste.
Why Redwood Decking Outperforms the Alternatives
Redwood decking combines natural beauty, durability, and workability, making it an excellent choice for outdoor decks. Premium all-heart redwood is remarkably resistant to decay and pests thanks to the natural tannin in the heartwood, which is also what creates its distinctive color
Benefits of choosing all-heart redwood decking:
● Natural decay and insect resistance: Heartwood provides greater natural durability than sapwood.
● Dimensional stability: Redwood is relatively stable, helping minimize warping, cupping, and splitting when properly installed and maintained.
● Beautiful appearance: Rich red, pink, and brown tones complement both traditional and contemporary outdoor designs.
● Easy workability: Redwood cuts, fastens, and finishes well, making it popular with homeowners and professional builders.
● Multiple grades and lengths: Choose from five all-heart grades and lengths up to 20 feet to match your project’s appearance and budget.
● Long-term value: Quality redwood decking can provide years of service with proper installation, ventilation, and maintenance.
Sustainable and Green by Nature
When it comes to environmental performance, natural wood outperforms synthetic products across the board. Of all building products, the lumber we sell has some of the lowest impacts on air and water quality. Its production generates far fewer toxins and greenhouse gases compared to composites and cement. While other building materials create greenhouse gases, our redwood deck boards actually remove them from the atmosphere.
Unlike composite decking, synthetic turf, or concrete, redwood can be refinished over time. The Lumber Baron offers five all-heart redwood decking grades to suit different budgets and projects, along with reclaimed lumber for customers seeking unique, environmentally conscious options.
