Project Description
Construction of the Mira Loma Quarter Master Depot began in 1942 and it soon was tasked with an “overseas distribution mission for subsistence, general supplies, clothing, and equipage” of troops during World War II. In 1952 the property was transferred to the U.S. Airforce and in 2022 a large demolition project commenced. From the reclamation we acquired a large amount of old growth surfaced 2×4 (net 1-5/8 x 3-1/2″) and surfaced 2×8 (net 1-5/8 x 7-3/8″) Mira Loma reclaimed redwood lumber used in the Depot’s original construction.
Available in a variety of different grades, with plenty of character, and already surfaced. This material is ideal for furniture projects like benches and tables, or for customers looking for more economical reclaimed options. We can split the Mira Loma reclaimed redwood so you can use it as unique siding or wall paneling.
The appeal of redwood lumber as a building material goes beyond its strength and beauty. Redwood is also resistant to decay and pests, thanks to the natural tannins which creates much of its unique color. The environment is important to us and all of our redwood lumber is environmentally friendly. Therefore, we only sell sustainably harvested new growth redwood or reclaimed old growth redwood.
