Project Description
Historic Reclaimed Redwood from the Mira Loma Quartermaster Depot
The Lumber Baron offers reclaimed redwood salvaged from the historic Mira Loma Quartermaster Depot in Southern California. Constructed in 1942, the depot was tasked with an “overseas distribution mission for subsistence, general supplies, clothing, and equipage” of troops during World War II. In 1952, the property was transferred to the U.S. Air Force. The facility later became a significant source of reclaimed redwood when portions of the original structures were dismantled. Today, this historic lumber offers homeowners, architects, designers, and contractors an opportunity to incorporate reclaimed California redwood into distinctive residential and commercial projects.
Reclaimed Redwood with Historic Character
Our Mira Loma reclaimed redwood features a variety of grades, colors, grain patterns, and natural weathering. It is one of our most affordable products. Years of exposure have given portions of this lumber a distinctive appearance that cannot easily be reproduced with newly manufactured materials. The wood’s historic origins and individual character make it an appealing choice for projects where appearance, authenticity, and sustainability matter.
